Each knife is handcrafted and assembled by artisans in Seki, the historical cradle of Japanese cutlery.

About the blades

  • VG-10 steel (cobalt-enriched stainless steel): high-end, strong and corrosion-resistant

  • Remarkably sharp, hand-sharpened

  • Each blade is tested against an internal Yaxell standard ( minimum 100 sheets cut , compared to 60–80 as standard)

  • Laser engraving of the brand

  • Each piece is unique: curves, patterns, and texture may vary slightly.

Founded in 1932 in Seki (Gifu Prefecture), Yaxell has been manufacturing professional kitchen knives for almost a century.
The company combines the traditional know-how of ancient blacksmiths with modern techniques to create blades of exceptional quality, recognized throughout the world.


Seki, the capital of Japanese cutlery

Since the 14th century, the city of Seki has been considered one of the three major global centers of cutlery (along with Solingen in Germany and Sheffield in the United Kingdom).
Originally renowned for its samurai swords, the city perpetuates this tradition with around a hundred manufacturers still active, and expertise passed down from generation to generation.
