Tools from ADLER Werkzeug

Les outils d' ADLER Werkzeug

HISTORY

In 1919, after his return from the First World War, the young farrier Josef Schmitt (26.11.1896 - 21.06.1976) helped his father Philipp Schmitt (26.01.1859 - 28.11.1928), a skilled blacksmith, with the construction of a new forge.

In 1921, Josef Schmitt obtained his master's certificate from the Karlsruhe Chamber of Commerce and Industry and opened the "Hammerwerk Gebrüder Schmitt" together with his brother Otto a year later. Production was soon expanded to include axes, hatchets and other tools. In the 1930s, the "ADLER" brand was born.

Today, Tobias Schmitt, Josef's great-grandson, runs the company. In more than 100 years, the small village forge has developed into an international specialist in forged forestry tools and garden tools.

SUSTAINABILITY E

FSC® Certification

As a wood processing company, ADLER uses raw materials in an exemplary manner in order to treat the environment with care. The FSC® label they obtain each year is a clear indicator that the wood used comes from responsible forest management with legitimate and controlled logging.

Water-based paints

Adler uses environmentally friendly water-based varnishes for all these wooden handles. The goal: to reduce environmental pollution, to provide a pollution-free workspace for users.

Renewable energy

Adler attaches great importance to renewable energies. Wood waste (chips, sawdust, wood shavings) that accumulates during production is used to power the heating system (heating capacity of 700 kW). With the heat acquired, they can heat the production halls, the administrative building and the drying chamber as a whole.

They also process other excess wood waste into high-quality wood briquettes for heating, which they offer for sale.
