This small Japanese folding knife , called Higonokami , is made in Miki , in Hyōgo Prefecture, a city renowned for over a century for its knife-making expertise.

Its extremely sharp carbon steel blade provides a clean and precise cut. Like all carbon steel blades, it requires regular maintenance: rinse and dry it after use, and remember to oil it occasionally to protect it from oxidation.

The Higonokami does not have a mechanical locking system. It uses a lever ( chikiri ) to keep the blade open by thumb pressure during use, according to a simple, safe and traditional principle.

The folded metal handle is stamped with the manufacturer's name, a guarantee of authenticity and artisanal quality.

Japanese expertise since 1896

Craftsmen in the town of Miki have been making these knives since 1896.
The manufacturing techniques have changed very little and remain faithful to traditional methods, making each Higonokami a knife that is both functional and steeped in history.
